There have been many successful companies from India, the latest one to join the fray is Zomato. There have been many who later followed the suite, but none have been as successful as this one has been. It has been a revelation since its inception. Food is something which is a basic necessity for everyone, and people love to dine out. For foodies, getting good food is like reaching another level of their lives. And that’s how zomato has impacted globally. Started as foodiebay.com in 2010, it has come a long way since its inception.

Needless to say, but waiting for food is something which every foodie hates. When they are hungry they need it RIGHT AWAY or they turn into nothing but ‘hangry’ (Yes, that’s hungry + angry). While some get frustrated waiting in queue to order food, others just can’t help but keep calm till their turn comes. Zomato initially named as Foodiebay was started in 2008 by Mr. Deepinder Goyal. It is a restaurant searching platform providing in-depth details with autonomous reviews and ratings. Foodiebay, the initial name was changed to Zomato in November 2010 to increase their reach among people.

To differentiate themselves from their competitors, Zomato concentrated on adding approx. 18,000 new places to eat from. Along with they also decorated many special features, such as pointed to particular dishes or opening times”.

To be the largest resource in food supply market, Zomato bought urbanspoon, a leading restaurant service providing a portal for $52 million to enter US, Canada, and Australia to leverage local insights and experience and to expand their business in overseas seeing the future goal and objective.

Zomato’s success lies in the quality of the talent it hires. The company looks for people with the attitude towards doing the unconventional and doing it right. This passion in people is what fuels the whole company and Zomato have benefited heavily from the talent it has chosen to hire.
